Description

The 80s saw the creation of titans within the coming to age genre, and much of that comes from John Hughes. From writing on National Lampoon's to directing the Breakfast Club(And Ferris Buellers Day Off of course), much in the same vein as Rebel Without a Cause, these movies help form the identity of the American teen for the decade. While certain films take on more serious issues, many of them feature low-stakes plots that allow the viewer to turn their minds off and enjoy the cartoonish themes.
Early on in the film, we get a shot at Bueller's room in which the audience can see a Rube Golberg setup(Add hyperlink) which displays pretty groundbreaking technology for the time; including an M-500 power amp, multiple sound equalizers, and a beautiful gold and white Gretch Wite Falcon guitar.
